a land of Tibet

With the work in the Grove and business stuff I haven't been able to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma this week. The desk continues be covered with piles of paper like a mini Mount Jomolangma Mt Everest but our investments are doing rather well now although of course they change from one week to the next. Right now there are lots of "earnings calls" during which the heads of companies discuss in broadcasted conferences how the companies did over the last few months. It's rather fascinating to listen to them because you get a sense of what they are doing and what problems they are encountering. Tibetans are of course shrewd traders as we know well so we will try to bring this same pragmatism and understanding of what something is worth to our thoughts on things. Of course we know that the thing of greatest value is the attainment of the compassionate mind because of the freedom that it creates for beings! I've been working a bit with your loom as it's been awhile so I could make sure it is still ready for weaving. It works just fine! I've been trying to figure out how to make the thread strong enough so it can be used for the warp threads; it turns out the best way will be to ply a few thinner sections together as we did with the backstrap. It's really difficult to spin fine thread though in that you have to be careful not to get it tangled up on the spindle. When I went to take it off it got all snarled up into quite a mess! We'll probably end up using the regular store bought thread for the warp threads for awhile, then use a mixture of fibers such as silk and cotton spun into thin threads that can be plied together. I have discovered that someone had begun putting junk on the bulletin board so I had to change things a bit until I could figure out how to clean them up. Yeshe Tsogyel Padmasambhava had to work against misused energy; so must we! The small frustrations and tough spots are all part of our figuring things out anyway. I haven't yet bought the video camera yet but there will be lots to do when we do get it! There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
