Through My Eyes
*
With work in the Grove continuing I haven't yet been able to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma this week. I thought I'd bring us a picture of my efforts to spin finer thread though. Here is a new spindle design!
![]() The thread is a lot finer! Notice how the spindle is thinner and wider. I've also put holes in its center portion. This allows the wheel to spin faster since there is more weight toward the outside and puts much less stress on the thinner thread because it is much lighter. It is still very tricky however because the thread does tend to break. Cotton with longer fibers would help as would using cotton mixed with silk. For now I simply keep the thread as moist as I can as I spin which also helps. There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
