Through My Eyes
*
With Tibetan events in NYC and catching up on rest I still haven't been able to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma except as usual to continue to keep the clay moist. I thought we could watch yet another video by Yangchen Lhamo.
We can see Tibetan dancers throughout the video. I've actually learned some of the steps from Tibetan friends - or at least the more elementary versions of them where you don't make the turns. It was a lot of fun and I can easily say it was one of the happiest moments of my life! When you are learning from friends you learn with your heart and there is a lot more joy and fun.
This is yet another thing the Beijing regime is taking from the Chinese people. Until the illegal occupation is over can Chinese people visiting the roof of the world ever have the experience of learning wonderful things from their neighbors and friends in this way? The wealth that is torn from Tibet will only last a finite length of time; the negative consequences will remain until they are resolved by correct words and deeds. And the happy moments that help the mind to grow remain forever- the Chinese people have been cheated of these by an elite that has mistakenly confused empty materialism with progress that so very common error human beings make. Buddha taught that compassion is the antidote to greed. When there is greed compassion goes and with it wisdom, peace of mind and happiness. In time one doesn't even have the right priorities to even create happiness. The Beijing regime can create all the architectural wonders it wants but if Chinese children are crushed beneath shoddy buildings that greed built does it matter to their parents?
There is an ancient saying:
" Veritas filia Temporis"
It means "truth is the daughter of time". In the passage of time the truth is born. But I think the sooner the Chinese people understand the truth about what their government is doing and their leadership is made to see it the sooner the tremendous potential of both peoples will be realized- in the form of two truly great nations. There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
