Through My Eyes

                                                                                                                                           *
I haven't had a chance to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma for awhile. I'm working on the frame loom again however.

It is very slow patient going. The hand spun warp tends to hold together very tightly which makes it difficult for the shed roll to separate the two sets of threads. So it is taking time. During this time Tibet has seen thirty six Tibetans voluntarily sacrifice their lives to fire to bring attention to the terrible situation in their homeland.

Kirti Rinpoche, the abbot of  Kirti monastery  in Ngaba testified  to the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the U.S. congress
that his monastery had become "a dreaded jail". He described the situation there:
“Within the barricaded monastery, the monks were divided into fifty-five groups and over 800 government officials moved into the monastic compound...Monks’ quarters are searched, all electronic devices have been confiscated, holy-scriptures are cut into pieces by knives and monks are forced to stamp on photos of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. About 100 monks were arrested en-mass, tortured and interrogated.”

Such events are a daily occurrence in CCP occupied Tibet and their efforts to crush the Tibetan spirit are matched only by their efforts to propogandize their activities abroad and to their own people. But there is one message that is impossible to distort:

For the freedom of my people I am not afraid to die.

And so we should not be afraid to live and to work for that freedom no matter how small our effort may seem to be. We have heard.

There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
