Through My Eyes
*
I haven't been able to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma yet. It's been a very busy week trying to work ahead of the rains in the Grove so I haven't done a lot of weaving on the loom. But I'm working on the warp thread breakage problem...
![]() I had misplaced the spindle I had made earlier (here it is in the front) for making finer thread so I set quickly to work to make another(center). This one is even lighter weight! I am spinning the spindle clockwise with one and counterclockwise with the other so that the two threads can be plied as I did when creating the backstrap. The opposite spins mean that when the two threads are spun together on the third spindle they will wind around each other and tend to hold together better. They can then reinforce each other's weak spots so each can be fairly thin. The resulting threads will be both thin and stronger when used as the long warp threads of the loom. It will be a very slow patient process but should work better than the single ply thread I have been using. There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
