Through My Eyes

We're in our coracle on the stream that flows beneath the Yangkhar Dorje Phagmo heading to this sacred abode of Vajravarahi! Dorje Phagmo is the Tibetan name for Vajravarahi just as Dolma is the Tibetan name for Tara. It isn't shown in the maps of our Footprint Tibet handbook but I think the stream probably looks something like the way I've drawn it, coming from the mountains above the Rongpatsa plain, most likely making it's way to the Yalong Dza chu or to another tributary of the Dza chu. I actually haven't necessarily confused Dorje Phagmo with Vajrayogini as in some accounts they are considered the same deity. Anyway I wanted to share that story with you beautiful one! It has also been said that it was Yeshe Tsogyel herself that appeared in the form of Vajrayogini to Jomo Manmo so as to reveal a sacred text that had been created by she and Padmasambhava centuries before and hidden by her in the cave; Jomo was thus another Terton treasure finder! Beyond the cave is a low pass which leads down to the valley of Rongpatsa which is covered with barley all the way to the foothills. It must be an awesome sight with the golden stalks beneath the mountain sky! Hail must be a big concern here with the Lamas performing many important shamanic rituals to prevent it. It's likely Yeshe Tsogyel Padmasambhava travelled here as we are now and would have rested here since it seems much like the Yarlung valley. Patrul Rinpoche and the other great wandering yogins surely made their way through here too and their energetic presence must still be felt here. Most likely there are many stories told of them that remain in the minds and hearts of the inhabitants today! There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
