Through My Eyes
*
We're resting at one of the village houses in the valley of the Chaktreng chu! Our Footprint Tibet handbook indicates that peonies grow wild here! It must look wondrous when they are in bloom. It indicates that rhododendrons, buttercups and daisies grow here as well! I thought we could rest here for awhile rather than go to more monasteries as we've just spent quite a while at Litang Chode! There are a few at the edge of the plateau of the Tso of Sangtobla and on the way to the Chaktreng. Niya of the Gelukpa school is found to the east . On the bank of the Dab chu there is a Bon monastery not far from where and old worn stupa stands. Closer toward Sumdo Dekyi Gonpa stands along with its three stupas. Our Footprint Tibet handbook indicates it is of the Drigung Kagyu lineage that was founded along with the Taklungpa , Drukpa and several other lineages by Phakmodrupa Dorje Gyelpo during his incarnation between 1110 and 1170. Anyway, the valley must be an incredibly wondrous place. Most likely there are medicinal herbs; some of the daisies have unusual properties. I thought we could count the raindrops in Tibetan. The numbers will certainly be needed in the studio and on gang rinpoche ngah tso gi! There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
