Through My Eyes
*
Working on the sculpture of Tara Drolma again! I put this together in something of a hurry after I realized that the entire sculpure had to be recreated after changing the armature. It is early in the modelling and the features look a lot different!
![]() They'll change quite a bit with more work. I've tried sculpting the eyes open here; it looks fairly good for an early attempt I think. This time the head is about a meter above the base. I was going to bring us a picture of the whole armature but decided it looked a bit stark at this stage. In the meantime I've brought us a few drawings!
![]() Here's one of the early drawings. Tara looks rather wistful, certainly someone who feels the suffering of her people and land!
![]() Another drawing! There are some more but I haven't taken pictures of them yet. I'm not an accomplished draftsperson so they aren't masterpieces. As with the sculpture each comes out looking different! The values are a lot darker in this picture so she looks much more solid here almost as she might have looked watching over the yak herds in the Chuzi Gangdruk. We can see the braids and a bit of ornament. The braids are certainly Tibetan! I need to research the ornaments and clothing. In the meantime the drawing from a couple of weeks ago I think has the general regal look that works but when it's time to sculpt the particulars of the garments and jewelry have to be worked out. There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
