Sunday May 15

A glimpse

toward the steep climb

to the  leading light of my long day

slight gentle beautiful determined bright one

patiently  making her way

she firmly alone firmly herself

to quietly remind me

that not so far away

for she I we two

our warm and bright future day

and to her then to say to tell

of the way from Batang

to the place where the Li chu flows

 Where

when the mountain light

is its very brightest

and the leaves upon the trees

stir and rustle in the warm dry wind

before the gaze

amid the wonder of the clouds

the sound of hooves

thundering across the plain

beneath the mountains

Puborgang

in this place they call Litang

And the  ta gyuk du chen

horse festival of Litang

wondrous scene that we know

the flash of white of the katak scarf

the flight swift of arrow through the air

the colorful flash

of chuba sleeve

the gleam of ornament

amber coral  and precious zhi

in braids brilliant beneath the sky

Then to a quiet place

where the shadow

of rock cast upon the ground

speaks of another power

It worn beneath the wind

the rains the snow the hail

of millennia

here a scrape where stirrup

passed too closely

there a darkened place

where the searing lightening

tore through a darkened sky

a crumbling spot

where plant fragile

clings to life

sustained by morning dew

And upon it's face

nigh at the crest

a flat place that

is strangely smooth

as a tablet

upon the stone

Look beautiful one

there it is

appearing before our sight

the letter KA

faint indistinct it was

now firmly emblazoned there

as real as the rhododendron

that bloom beside it there

A wondrous shamanic sign is this

another Kamarpa has come into

this strife filled world

to ease the suffering of beings

All this not so wonderful

to my straining eyes

as your determined beauty

and swift uplifted grace

that endures with patient  dignity

this that I see in you

beneath the open sky

on this afternoon

of our spring of working

and waiting

and weaving

Lotus blossoms rest

upon the window sill

and so we wait

two as one

we our effort

real and lasting

slight gentle

beautiful one
