A glimpse
to whence
the light of my long day
slight gentle beautiful
determined bright one
has made her way
she firmly alone firmly herself
placing silent bright affirmation
beneath the open sky
that not so far away
for we two
our warm and bright future day
And then to silently say to her
to tell of a small quiet lake near
the Raga Sangpo river
Not far from here
a place where water
heated far below
soars fifty feet into the sky
in geysers from the rocky earth
To Lake Tsakyel Tso
in the North through valleys beneath
snow covered peaks among them
Mount Sanglung
to descend into broad sand expanse
of Yutra Tsangpo with it’s treacherous
places where the earth pulls down
the unwary
Thence to the pasture lands of
Lake Tashi Namtso
with its nomad tents
and upon the ground
for several yards
the long fibers of yak wool
on a few boards stretched beneath the sky
It’s a loom gentle beautiful one
that they fashion to cloth
of their tent dwelling
and all around it mill
the herds of yak, goats, sheep and lamb
in fields of grass and flowers
Through the rugged pass to
Dawa Tso
Here too the nomads travel
with their herds
beneath the sky till winter comes
then to leave belonings in rocky cairns
to return on warm spring day
Not far from here the Dawazhung
a marshy place where living beings abound
Beyond to the vast plain
where fields of salt have grown
to be brought by the inhabitants there
in humble exchange to the lands below
for necessities of life
for generations beyound count
A quiet patient time apart
even when not seen
still gentle hearts vision
And so, we share
this time together
as we rest easy
as our plan grows
Lotus blossoms rest
upon the window sill
and so we wait
two as one
we our effort
real and lasting
slight gentle
beautiful one
