( We read more of the spirits in the Buryat tradition!)

"In shamanic work, it is a common practice to call spirits for a specific purpose. A shaman may wish to add power to a specific intention in order to augment her own power and that of her helpers or to assign a spirit as a caretaker for an ongoing process of healing or protection. This is done because certain spirits are not appropriate for permanent addition to a shaman's spirit family and because the spirits that bond to a shaman are not supposed to be left to work with another person after a ritual has been completed.
When you are doing shamanic work of any kind, it is a good idea to call the tenger, zayaans, and other high-ranking spirits for general assistance and protection. When you acknowledge them, they will remember you as well. You may also want to call specific beings for certain purpose, such as Tatai for weather work, Bukhe Belige for earth healing and Erleg Khan for soul retrieval. They will add power to what you do, even if the alliance is a temporary one simply for the purpose of a ritual.
When you are doing healing, soul retrieval, or protection work, you may wish to call a nature spirit to assist you and to remain with the person or place involved after the ritual is over. In these cases, make an ongon for the spirit so that it remains with the patient or is displayed  in the place being protected. You can simply call for a nature spirit to come to you for assistance at some point during your ritual work without knowing its name; a spirit that is in the vicinity and is friendly and helpful will come. Your hostile spirits will not allow a hostile spirit to come; only one that is appropriate will be drawn to you. If you feel so inclined , you may journey to find such a spirit and make a deeper contact with it, but only you will know whether that is necessary. The general rule is that journeying for a spirit is done when a illness is especially serious, when protection is being invoked against a powerful being such as a burhan, or when bringing blessing for a major undertaking  or for an entire community. Once the ritual is done and the spirit has settled into the ongon you have created for it, it will continue the process of healing, protection, or blessing."
(In the Buryat world the shaman decides how to request assistance from the spirits! )  I promise to add more tomorrow...

( Tahshi Deleh, gentle beautiful one!  Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh?I began the day working in our studio on our a land of Tibet and then went to bring in more of our gift from the Tenger. Two as one, we've brought in enough to make several more boards!  Then I went up to the Grove and checked on the trees and native plants resting by your Medlar tree a bit as usual.  I went about taking pictures for awhile; although the lighting wasn't the best it was splendid to be outside! Tomorrow I'll work a bit more in our studio on the boards for your loom and then head up to the hill for some more wandering about! I'll add our wildflowers and put this up  so we can rest.
And so, as always we'll continue two as one on  to tomorrow
