Through My Eyes
Sunday December 7
( We read of the spirits in the Buryat tradition!)
" Mongolian and Siberian shamanism recognizes many different types of spirits, ranked mostly by origin and by their effects on human beings. While there are a great variety of names for them in Siberian languages, I will use the Mongolian names in order to explain them more simply. Before starting, understand that the terms god, goddess, deity, and so on are not adequate to describe these beings, as they are not considered gods in the European sense of the work. These spirits are nonphysical beings that have humanlike personalities and emotions but possess great power and can be called for assistance in shamanic work or for blessing and protection in daily life. The primary deities of Siberian Shamanism are Father Heaven and Mother Earth; although they are given human titles, they are nonhuman in form and transcend conception as human personalities. They are generally benevolent toward all living things and spirit beings, and the flow of energy between them empowers everything On the other hand, they are both attentive to human appeals and shape the fate of all beings. For this reason, they are the objects of worship by all Mongolian and Siberian peoples.
The most powerful of spirit beings are theTenger. These generally are upper -world spirits and are concieved of as being associated with the four directions. They are believed to be descendants of Esege Malaan Tenger and Manzan Gurme Toodei, who reside in the upper world. At the beginning of time they split into four groupings associated with the four directions."
(In the Buryat world interaction with the spirits is a part of everyday life!) I promise to add more tomorrow...

( Tahshi Deleh, gentle beautiful one! Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh? I spent most of the day working on the website and pictures again. We've a bit more space now although it's been a bit tough as the connection was painfully slow. I did manage to get up to the Grove for a brief time in the afternoon though! The fence needs a bit of fixing here and there so two as one we'll be working on this soon. I hope you liked the picture of me at our sacred place. You'll notice I had to add a bit of area at the top to allow me to crop it. It looks sort of like a skylight! I'm going to study a bit from our Tibetan language book; I'll add our wildflowers and put this up so we can rest.
And so, as always we'll continue two as one on to tomorrow
my one gentle beautiful patient dream bright
long dark mane in sunlight
so for now I bid goodnight...Simjah Nahngo! )
( please see my spinning for you!) .
