Through My Eyes                                              Sunday  February 22                ( We continue reading of some Buryat terms!) " ahanad ( ah-ha-nahd): The leading shaman in a ritual in which several shamans are participating. Traditionally the ahanad is the oldest or most experienced shaman. aikha (eye-haa): Sacred grove used for shamanic ceremonies. It is forbidden to cut trees from such a place except for making wooden objects for shamanic ritual. alba (ahl-ba): Meaning "performing of duty," this is a ceremony asking the spirits to protect male members of the family. ami (em): The upper-world soul of human beings, passed down though families." I spent the day tidying up in our studio then headed to the Grove to do a bit of pruning. The coming growing season is almost here!  Then I returned to our studio to work a bit on our a land of Tibet. I'll add our wildflowers then put this up so we can rest.
