(We continue listening to the Dalai Lama as he tells of compassion, world peace, and happiness in My Tibet written by he and Galen Rowell!)

" Foreign tourists have really helped the Tibetan cause. They have no particular obligation, nothing to gain by speaking out on our behalf, but as human beings, as we already discussed, they feel something within when they actually see the suffering of others. That I consider the most precious thing in human life. Strong feelings are very important, for they are also the source of happiness and the source of peace.

As I said to members of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, my country's unique history and profound spiritual heritage render it ideally suited for fulfilling the role of a sanctuary of peace at the heart of Asia. Tibet's historic status as a neutral buffer state, contributing to the stability of the entire continent, can be restored. Peace and security for Asia as well as for the world at large can be embraced. In the future Tibet need no longer be an occupied land, oppressed by force, unproductive and scarred by suffering. It can become a free haven where humanity and nature live in harmonious balance, a creative model for the resolution of tensions afflicting many areas throughout the world."

( Tahshi Deleh gentle one! Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh? I began the day in our studio spinning for you then headed out to continue pruning the trees and native plants near our studio. After that I headed up gang rinpoche ngah tso gi to tidy up a bit more in the Grove. After that I rested by your Medlar tree as usual then wandered about for awhile taking pictures before returning to our studio to tidy up there and do some business stuff before working on our a land of Tibet. I guess I should tell something of this; it had to do with the funds I mentioned several months back. The nature of money is that it isn't static; you have to invest it in various things or "keep it working" as they say. So that's what I 've been doing and it's a lot of work! I've been fortunate to have had a lot of very expert counsel on this. Hopefully things will work out just fine! I've been doing a lot of reading and listening and figuring in any case; it's a whole new field of endeavor and a fascinating one at that. I'll tell more of this when you come! After that I worked with the equipment a bit and watched some Tibetan movies. Tomorrow is our first outreach event. I chose that location and time so it would be easier to get to and because it is a wonderful place worth going to and people come from just about everywhere to visit it. That and because it isn't far from our studio! I'm going to put the pages up on our infosite; I'll put this up a bit early so we can rest.

And so, as always we'll continue two as one on to tomorrow
