Sunday July 17

A glimpse to

whence

the leading light of my long day

slight gentle beautiful determined bright one

has made her way

she firmly alone firmly herself

leaving  silent bright affirmation

beneath the open sky

to quietly remind me

that not so far away

for she I we two

our warm and bright future day

and to her then to say to tell

of the descent

from the plateau

of the Tso of Sangtobla

To make our way

to Sumdo

then on to the valley

of Chaktreng chu

glimmering beneath the mountain light

where the buttercups

like butter lamps

glow upon the fields

Where the daisies sway

countless platforms

for the winged beings

that travel through this wondrous place

Look beautiful one

over there beside where

the rocks push their way

through the green clothed

stony ground

there are flowers there

blazing white pink lavender

glorious extravagant profusion

amid lobed emerald leaves

peonies are they

this their native home

Among the rhododendrons

that grow through the blanket of leaves

from trees that tower above

upon the gentle slopes

their new formed flowers

as candles

that blaze alight with opening bloom

There before us

a dusty road

leads to village beyond

to it we make our way

to where a house

of hand hewn stone

stands with others like it here

humble sturdy

with bright painted doors

to look out

upon the fields beyond

and listen and count as the raindrops fall

upon the rock

of the threshold

chik  nyi  sum  shi  ngah  trook  dun  geh  gu

on and on

A quiet patient time apart

even when not seen

still gentle heart's vision

And so, we share this time together

slight gentle one

as we rest easy

as our plan grows

Lotus blossoms rest

upon the window sill

and so we wait

two as one

we our effort

real and lasting

slight gentle

beautiful one
