Sunday June 5

                                                                    *
A glimpse

forth at the base of the steep climb

to the  leading light of my long day

slight gentle beautiful determined bright one

patiently  making her way

she firmly alone firmly herself

to quietly remind me

that not so far away

for she I we two

our warm and bright future day

and to her then to say to tell

of the crowd of wondrous beings

behind the thrones

still within the great assembly hall

of Jangchub Chokhorling

of Litang Chode are we

A thousand of them

calm and poised before our gaze

stand looking out at us

yet all emanate the same

personality

for all are Tsongkapha

and to the left of the thrones

Manjughosa Jamyang

Avalokiteshvara

Shakyamuni they whom we know

beyond a stairway

At it's height

Mahakala gestures to us

all in a sweeping motion

we are transported there

to this place where

Mahakala

Dharmaraja

Senge Dongma and Shukden

deities place their guard upon the mind

In the calm stillness we rest

to return before the thrones

where Tsongkapha Avalokiteshvara

Maitreya

and Tara Dolma

wait for us

to the right another rise

to where the presence of

Buddhas and Bodhisattvas

emanate

we rest there for a time

Then to us comes a song

of purest note we pause in awe

to look below

look beautiful one

its Sarasvati again

music and poetry's muse

and Yeshe Tsogyel Padmasambhava

stand before

enlightened beings and protectors

that we know

All save the one

who stands just beyond

It's Marici Ozerchenma

goddess of the dawn

many have stood before

her steadfast blazing red light

in quiet supplication

for at her gentle touch

even the most profound

obscuration of the mind

can be vanquished

leaving vast open pure freedom

and wonder then behind

We pause for a moment

in quiet homage

thence beyond the portal

we return to the glinting mountain light again

All this not so wonderful

to my straining eyes

as your determined beauty

and swift uplifted grace

that endures with patient dignity

this that I see in you

beneath the open sky

on this morning

of our spring of working

and waiting

and weaving

Lotus blossoms rest

upon the window sill

and so we wait

two as one

we our effort

real and lasting

slight gentle

beautiful one
