(We continue listening to the Dalai Lama as he tells of his life in Lhasa in My Tibet written by he and Galen Rowell!)

" Apart from its use as an office, temple, school, and habitation, the Potala was also and enormous storehouse. There were rooms full of thousands of priceless scrolls, some a thousand years old. There were strong rooms filled with golden regalia of the earliest kings of Tibet, dating back a thousand years, and the sumptuous gifts they received from the Chinese and Mongols emperors, and the treasures of the Dalai Lamas who succeeded the kings. There also were stored armor and armament from treasures of the Dalai Lamas who succeeded the kings. There also were stored the armor and armament from the whole of Tibetan volumes, some of which were said to weigh eighty pounds. Some were written on palm leaves imported from India a thousand year ago. Two thousand illuminated volumes of the scriptures were written in inks made of powdered gold, silver, iron, copper,conch shell, turquoise, and coral, each line in a different ink."

( Tahshi Deleh gentle one! Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh? I began the day heading up gang rinpoche to check the trees and native plants then rested by your Medlar tree as usual before returning to our studio to tidy up in our studio then work on some business stuff for awhile. After that I worked on our a land of Tibet. I'm going to put the pages up on our infosite; I'll put this up for now so we can rest.

And so, as always we'll continue two as one on to tomorrow
