Our Sacred Place

A time of abiding apart

has it come?

Dream Bright

Ah, let's go to the sacred place

of the ancestors so long ago.

And in that sacred space rest our hearts

and minds as one even as we must

for now learn and work in the world

in separate spaces

And as we look quietly out to the sky

feel our  future as the great patterned cloth

of our determined weaving

all the more beautiful in that

we wove it with our own

 independent

vision.

Gentle silent determined one,

I would now that we were two wildflowers,

forever sitting on a hillside

warm beneath a bright shining heaven

quietly bending in the wind

facing each other as our hearts commune

in a silent endless love and affection

But for short time

the needs of the world

darkened by sadness

require more from us.

And so,

you tie  your long hair,

I put on my grey

we shoulder our burden

and go forth.

From the sacred place

where we saw the solstice together

when the year began it's course

and where our hearts

as one can always return

until the day

when we look upon each other once again

beneath the warmth of the open sky
