Through My Eyes
Monday May 19
Out at the far end of the Grove looking at the trees of the border. ( With the evening lighting it looks like a painting! I began training the
branches of the trees and watered the mulberries. They are not on the watering system so I just use a pail from the stream. Let's read some
more even though it's getting late. As always please click on the picture...)
*( but first please click here to read of the day with me! )

( Training of the trees in the evening is a quiet and pleasant job. You use clothespins to train the new growth so that it comes out of the trunk at a wide angle. Turtle was swimming beneath a tree beside the stream, the birds were hovering here and there and the deer were quietly walking at the base of the hill. I hope you liked the poem. The wording for the work part isn't quite what I wanted but hopefully you understand what I meant. Basically in the first part we're moving the pump to clean it and it's heavy. It has this fitting that you have to push it in on that's very hard to work.( That's usually when I end up swearing a lot more than I prefer to). The rust color is because the stream has receded from the banks and the iron in the clay silt has oxidized so it looks kind of rusty. It's really sticky to walk in! Ooze isn't the right word because it's more like I imagine quicksand to be and it holds your boots down. The honeysuckle grows not far away so I thought I'd add it's fragrance to make things easier! The second part is spraying with a backpack sprayer up into the trees. It is a tough job although I'm thinking of ways to make things easier. I sent the malfunctioning cell phone off to be repaired. It might be a few weeks so it's a good thing I got another one. Electronic gadgetry has it's problems to be sure!
And so, as always we'll continue on
my one dream bright
to tomorrow
so for now
I bid goodnight (let's read though first if you would like!)
(( I ordered the cotton fibers and the spindle last night. This morning I tried spinning a little of the cotton that comes in the top of vitamin jars. Even just with the fingers it works well enough so I get the idea. Soon I will be spinning thread for your loom! )
