Through My Eyes
Sunday November 16
( We continue reading of the universe as seen in the Buryat tradition!)
" Some Mongolian shamans visualize the lower world as having much more water than the middle world. As is the case in the upper world, lower-world spirits are usually invisible in this world and we are often invisible in theirs.
Our universe, the middle world, is unique in that it has physical reality in addition to a spiritual dimension. Physical living organisms are inhabited by at least two spirit entities; humans have three, one from each of the three worlds. The middle-world component of the human being, the suld, lives in the natural world after a person's life; it is immortal but never incarnates again. Nature is permeated with millions of these beings, all of whom is capable of communicating with shamans.
The gol is the connecting point of all these places, and most shamans start with upward movement from it. Even the lower world journey may start with flight upward from the gol. As you recall, when a person becomes ongod orood, the sensation at the moment of its happening may seem to be like moving upward toward the sky. This is the sensation of shaking loose from the confines of the physical body, for the ongon spirits usurp control from the body temporarily when they enter. When you journey, it usually starts with embodying the shamanic spirits, because they accompany and protect you during the journey and help you break through to the spirit worlds.
Your sensation of travel might be one of flight, running, or falling. As you practice you will find that there are certain ways you travel that are unique to you and your needs. You may find that you remain pretty much in your usual form during the journey, especially if you are using a shaman steed. Or you may take on the form of one or more animals during a journey."
(In the Buryat world the approach to the different levels depends on the individual shaman!) I promise to add more tomorrow...

( Tahshi Deleh, gentle beautiful one! Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh? Just about all the liming is done in the Grove; there are about 10 bags left so there are couple of tons out there! There are a few places to finish and the bags to pick up and bring back to the studio but we're just about ready for winter! Two as one we've gotten a lot done! I couldn't rest by your Medlar tree of course since the ground is covered with lime but was able to last night. The night sky was beautiful then. I'm going to work a bit on our a land of Tibet; I'll add our wildflowers and put this up so we can rest.
And so, as always we'll continue two as one on to tomorrow
my one gentle beautiful patient dream bright
long dark mane in sunlight
so for now I bid goodnight...Simjah Nahngo! )
