( We read of the making of Oboos!)

" In Buryat shamanism the creation of an oboo has two purposes. One is to honor the nature spirit of a place, and in honoring it to create a representation of the gol so that the spirit can more easily bring blessings to the people who come to pray to it. The other  is to create a place where a shaman can more easily access the power of the gol by using a representation of it as a tool. An oboo usually serves both purposes.
Oboos take several forms. What they all have in common is their symbolic meaning, even though they may be made of different materials. Most oboos are made of wood or stones. In general, the people of Mongolia and some parts of the Tuva make oboos of stones because they live in the steppe; the forest- dwelling people of Siberia make oboos of wood. The most important characteristic of oboos is their vertical nature-whether they are piles of stone, piles of wood, or living trees, they represent the union among the three worlds and the union between all places and times. Thus they have great shamanic power.
It is not difficult to make an oboo. There are certain items that are traditionally put under oboos, but they are not necessary. In the past, weapons were often buried under oboos in recognition of their power to make peace and bring protection (the Iroquois peace tree ceremony also involves the burying of weapons). What is most important however, is the intention in creating an oboo. An oboo can be created anywhere if the person who builds it has a sincere desire to use it for shamanic work and to honor the nature spirits of the place where it is erected."
(In the Buryat world a space may be made sacred with creative intent!)  I promise to add more tomorrow...

( Tahshi Deleh, gentle beautiful one!  Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh? With the rain I had to go back up to the Grove and cover the gizmo and a few other sundries I'd left out! Then I spent more time working in our studio doing some more research on a land of Tibet and clearing space on a large bench in it's center that will be needed later.  I'll add  our wildflowers and put this up so we can rest.
And so, as always we'll continue two as one on  to tomorrow
