Through My Eyes

( We continue reading of the universe as seen in the Buryat tradition!)

" Some shamans continue drumming through the entire journey; others lie down during the journey while a competent assistant continues the drumming for them. This is a matter of choice and depends on what works best for you at the time. A lot of shamans prefer doing their journeys in a dark room or at night because darkness helps in maintaining an altered state of consciousness. Journeying is a serious matter, but it is nevertheless a joyous and wonderful experience. Enjoy the adventure!
Before setting out on a shamanic journey, it is important to have a specific destination or goal in mind. In any kind of shamanic work you need to focus and direct intention toward certain goals so that you can manifest the energy to produce the desired results. In journeying, if you do not have a specific destination, such as when you are searching for something like a lost soul, direct your intention toward what you are looking for. Journeying always carries some risk for the shaman of soul loss or of getting lost or hung up somewhere. If this happens, even if you return to ordinary consciousness, you will be disempowered and out of sorts until you have recovered your complete self. Getting lost or hung up is usually caused by journeying without a specific goal in mind. When you journey simply for exploration, be sure to keep your spirits close around you and follow their wisdom, for they will keep you safe.
A shaman does not travel alone. Whenever you leave your body, your spirit family will surround you for protection and guidance, and your power animals will run with you in their usual form. Each shaman visualizes her spirits differently , and as you develop your relationship with them you will recognize the various forms they take. They may even manifest as a certain physical sensation, smell, or sound Whether or not they are directly visible or otherwise perceptible, the shamanic helper spirits are always around you. Visualize them as being like a flock of birds that cluster around you wherever you go, whether you are journeying or doing other shamanic work or if you are in everyday reality."
(In the Buryat world intention is important part of the safe journey!)  I promise to add more tomorrow...

( Tahshi Deleh, gentle beautiful one!  Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh? The wind continued until fairly late in the day so I went about taking pictures for us and studying from our Tibetan language book a bit. Then I went up to the Grove and finished feeding the trees , the native plants and the grapes. Then I hauled the remaining few lime bags and tree food back across the stream to the studio. A bit of a hustle, but two as one, we got it completed. The grape arbor still has to be worked on but that can wait until we can work on it together!  There are a few things to be done here and there but we're just about set for winter. I know I said that last week! Your Medlar tree is set as well!  All the leaves are gone and Medlar is ready for winter. I probably shouldn't refer to Medlar as he as the term may not be accurate for this being! Then I worked on our a land of Tibet. One thing I forgot mention is that the Tibetan song we listened to may or may not have been recorded at a tremendous cost. At least one Tibetan recording music, Nahawang Choepel, spent over 10 years in prison after being arrested by the Chinese authorities before finally being released. You may know this already of course! I'll add  our wildflowers and put this up so we can rest.
And so, as always we'll continue two as one on  to tomorrow
