Through My Eyes

Here's some of our grapevine bark weaving! The thinner designs use less material and are somewhat easier to use with the loom. The tails on the thicker designs are kind of neat though. They make the grapevine weaving look like the horsetail tashuur or miniaa, the shaman's whip used to sweep away negative energy that Sarangerel speaks of! Perhaps we can make the tashuur in this fashion. The weaving at the top is the one we use to anchor the loom itself.

Here's my thoughts on how the backstrap might attach to the loom. On either side of the backstrap a  stick goes through the sewn loop.

Then the grapevine bark weaving goes on the stick. The stick on the end of the loom itself would go between the stick and the grapevine weaving. The stick will probably end up being shorter and formed with notches to hold the grapevine bark. The design seems sturdy enough though! I promise to add more later...
