Through My Eyes

Sunday November 7

             (We continue reading of Perelandra!)

" ' I stated that we would not damage or destroy the beetles. To seal the bargain, I promised to leave unmowed a specific area of tall grass that was a favorite of the beetle.'
The sun was almost onto the crest of the Blue ridge, casting long, cool shadows from the woods that reached almost to the garden while the first of the evening swallows darted after insects in the amber light. 'I addressed the issue of the corn,' said Machaelle, 'still hoping to salvage some. I decided to try to raise the vibration of the individual stalks. I spent three days putting my hands on each stalk and loving it. Perhaps the ears would fill out despite the Japanese beetle.' "
( An agreement with the world of insect beings!  )  I promise to add more tomorrow...

( Tahshi Deleh, gentle beautiful one! Kehrahng kusu debo yinpeh?  I began the day in our studio spinning for you then headed out to continue cutting the posts for the raspberry trellis. We've only a few more to cut; then we can start digging the holes and putting them in! They'll help to keep the raspberries farther off the ground so they don't get as wet from the summer rains and stream flooding. The raspberries tend to be on the ends of the stalks so this also will help them to ripen. After that I headed up our precious snow mountain to work a bit on the fences and began to set up shelters for some of our native plants that need them for winter. Then I continued clearing around the trees. Working two as one we've just about prepared the Grove for winter! There's some painting of the tree trunks to be completed;we have a fair bit of time for this though as it doesn't have to be done before the very cold part of winter and the paint dries easily even when it's fairly cold. After that I returned to our studio to work on our a land of Tibet. Two as one we've actually noticed a bunch of mistakes I made on the last reading so I thought we can try reading it again! We've fixed a few more mistakes on the pages as usual. I've been thinking it was the 29th of October as the first day we began seeing together but it actually was the 30th although it was somewhat before that anyway as you know well! You'll notice I added a bit more to yesterday's page as we'd done a few things I'd forgotten.  I'll add our wildflowers then put this up for now so we can rest.
And so, as always we'll continue two as one on  to tomorrow
