You will have to look around to see this Monarch Butterfly. Like the truth though,
this butterfly is right under your nose.
This was on August 4th. On September 15th many more appeared. These were probably
this year's offspring from the milkweed plants which are scattered throughout the field below the hill. They spent this particular day feeding from the glowing spread of goldenrod flowers and resting in the cedar trees.
It was very heartening to see them after the terrible tragedy of the week before. Nature quietly reminds us that life indeed does go on.
