Through My Eyes

I haven't yet had time to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma. I thought we could watch another video! This one is from ssherpa and is from the 2007 Losar. We can see the offering of katas/ jedars to the picture of His Holiness the Dalai Lama!

There will not be Losar celebrated in many places and in thinking about this I think about how I have felt  this year so many times. I thought I'd write a poem:

No Losar this Year

Tsampa sits upon the shelf
Chang unopened with dust lined
For gentle faces and kind eyes
gaze through the twilight of my mind

The faces of the friends we knew
Voices spoke and laughed and cried
My throat whispers thick with tears
But my heart is filled with pride

In dignity you stood for peace
Steel club and gun defied
Forever we will stand for you
In honor you have died

Nothing will change the loss of so many friends. But nothing will change the fact that the situation has changed. Tibetans all over the plateau have risen up for freedom, peace, and human dignity. As the Beijing regime refuses to make any effort to compromise with the representatives of the Tibetan Government in Exile, speaks ill of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and initiates a massive brutal crackdown on the plateau, they are steadily bringing into being that which they most fear.  I see a light shining upon an empty seat at the United Nations and a flag flying in the wind that has never been seen there before.

Veritas filia Temporis.

There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
