Through My Eyes

I haven't yet had a chance to work on the sculpture of Tara Drolma. With taking care of Mom Amala I haven't yet had a lot of time or energy to accomplish
as much as I have meant to. But I have had a chance to practice with the frame loom. I've tried a few methods. Here is the usual method of stringing with a moderate distance between the warp threads  so the fabric looks as usual. We can see a few skips as I was getting used to the method...

Here we can see the next peice of fabric. I left more space between the warp thread to make it a lot easier to move the threads between each other.
It goes very easily and quickly and the rhythm helped me to figure out how to best use the frame loom. It works quite well! This fabric actually
looks fairly good when looked at from an arms length. But I thought I'd try something more complicated...

Here I've strung the warp threads tightly together!  Ordinarily it would be extremely difficult to move the threads between each other. This was the
way I strung the backstrap loom the first time. It was so tight I broke the sticks trying to put sufficient tension on them to pull the warp threads
past each other...But my understanding of the technique has improved! Still, it's somewhat difficult so it wouldn't be a good choice for someone else
learning to use the frame loom and the extra effort isn't really necessary. Wtih all this though I realize it is time to use hand spun thread for the warp
threads rather than store bought.

And here it is!  We can see the thread is uneven but much of it is spun quite fine!

It is taking quite a while to string the frame loom this time but it is progressing steadily. Things are going quite well! There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
