Through My Eyes
*
It's time to begin work again on the sculpture of Tara Drolma! Allowing the sculpture to dry before winter does seem to be helpful in avoiding the worst of the cracking. It will take a bit of time to hydrate all of that clay though; I'm guessing it's between two to three hundred pounds that has to absorb water from the soaked towels.
![]() As of May 29,2013 118 Tibetans have walked into the flames. The Barkhor around the Johkang temple in Lhasa has been bulldozed to be replaced by the 'Barkhor Shopping Mall'. Woeser in her blog Invisible Tibet writes
"Our Lhasa is on the verge of destruction!
“And now, the area in front of the Jokhang, which has borne witness to so much change over the ages, has no more of the pilgrims from Kham and Amdo who prostrate themselves all the way from the far borders to Lhasa; no more lamp pavilions in which thousands and tens of thousands of butter lamp offerings were lit every day.
“Only snipers poised on the roofs of Tibetans’ homes, and fully armed soldiers on patrol; only the opening of one massive government-business sector joint venture shopping mall after another, each with inflatable blood-red plastic columns before their doors, flaunting the vulgarity and invasiveness of these new upstart operations.”
And in Dharamsala a spy directly under the employ of a the CCP has been arrested at the headquarters of the Tibetan Government in Exile and implicated in a plot to poison Tibetans ' to spread terror and chaos in the Tibetan community'.
Sometimes things don't get better and worse- sometimes they just get worse and worse. And when that happens the way you maintain effort and courage is actually by simply reminding yourself that 'it is what it is'. One simply goes forward doing the very best one can in the situation of that day. The burden of the uncertainty of the future and the losses of the past are then lifted and calmness and resolve return.
We must work to change things.
There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
