Through My Eyes

We're on the hill of Katok resting in front of  the Dukhang assembly hall and the Zangdokpelri temple!  The Dukhang is probably a very shamanically powerful place despite it's now plain facade!  Our Footprint Tibet handbook indicates that all of the original stones were used again. This must have been a lot of work for, as we know from the construction of the Potala and the creation of the lake and island of the temple of Lhakhang ,mortar was used to hold them together. It would have been painstakingly cleaned from each one. With all the ceremonies held within the original assembly hall however the stones would have become imbued in the energy of the place and thus Longsay Nyingpo, the restorer of Katok, must have decided to use them again. It would be wondrous to be at the temple of Zangdokpelri on the day sacred to Yeshe Tsogyel Padmasambhava on Tsechu the tenth day of the sixth month of the lunar calendar. It is indicated as corresponding to Padmasambhava's birthday! Anyway, it sounds wondrous at the quieter times of year and would be a good place to think more about Tibetan script. It turns out that Tibetan sentences aren't composed of distinct words separated by spaces. Words are composed of units, each having it's own independent meaning for example:  as for example the word backstrap is made up of two independent words back  and strap hence gyap lung thag. In a sentence all the small units are put together each separated by a period and it is left to the reader to decide the meaning of the sentence from all the units used. I'll bring us some written script soon; it's been a bit tough as you know well!  There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
