Through My Eyes

We're in our coracle near Chamdo on the Da chu as the Mekong is known in Tibet . We're heading into Kham which is known as Chuzhi gangdruk meaning  land of four rivers and six ranges. What a place! I'll just say a bit for now as we're still getting the sense of it. From west to east there's the Brahmaputra at the place where it goes between Gyala Pelri and Namchak Barwa an incredibly wondrous place that we'll go to a bit later. This isn't part of Chuzi gangdruk  but I thought I'd mention it.Then on into Chuzhi gangdruk there's the Salween or Ngul Chu separated from the Da chu, the Mekong by the Tsawagang mountains. From the Da chu it's over the Markhamgang range to the Dri chu, the Yangtze, thence over the Zelmogang to the North or Poborgang to the South to get from the Dri chu to the Dza chu, the Yalong before going over the Mardzagang to the North or Minyak Rabgang mountain range to the South. The climate here is milder than elsewhere in Tibet but it's very rugged terrain!  There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one; we've lots more travelling to do here!
