Through My Eyes
*
We're at the waterfall of Drime Kunden and Tsampo Mendrel Tsema! It's above the monastery of Chokhorling in an area of the Brahmaputra known as the middle Kongpo which is basically the general area where the Nyang chu flows into the Brahmaputra on the North bank of the Brahmaputra. The South Bank including all the way to Namchak Barwa and Gyala Pelri is considered the lower Konpo while the upper is in the farther upstream in the mountains near a place called Gyamda. We'll add these locations a bit later. Closer to the Nyang chu is a temple called the Buchu Sergyi Lhakhang. It is another of the geomantic temples built by King Songsten Gampo and his Queens! It has a golden roof that can be seen from both sides of the Brahmaputra from a long distance. It was one of the four great Tadul Lhakhang or border taming temples as they were called and corresponds to the Ogress' right elbow. There is much to see there; I'll tell of it when I bring us the weekly poem. On Norburi hill above Buchu is the temple of Lamaling. As with so many places in Tibet it's a very shamanic place. When Dudjom Rinpoche the residing Lhama did certain ceremonial work there a three horned goat was said to appear, walk about, then disappear into a stone in front of the temple! The Lamaling was part of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism which is the same as that brought to Tibet by Padmasambhava. There are several other schools each with it's own history and spirtual lineages. We can learn of this later. We'll fix the mistakes in the Drime Kunden poem over the weekend since it's getting late. There's a lot more to add but as usual two as one we'll add to the notes later beautiful one!
