Through My Eyes
*
We're in Purang! There is much for us to look at there since it, like Khyunglung is one of the oldest cities of Tibet and has cave dwellings! It is also a spot where the nomads of the Chang Tang historically have come to trade their wool and salt for the rice, palm sugar and other needed items with the inhabitants of Nepal and India. The Mabcha Tsangpo means Peacock river! It is the Tibetan portion of the Karnali which descends a steep gorge into Nepal and thence to the Ganges. Before it does though it passes the village of Khorzhak which came into being because of an ongon! That's Buryat terminology of course; to describe what the statue of Khorzhak was will take some time. I'll add a few more notes after I bring us the poem though beautiful one!
