Through My Eyes
Monday May 5
And so we continue patiently in steadfast hope and resolve ( a much brighter day despite the weather)! Here we're both heading out across the Grove on a warm and bright future day.( Since it's raining, I thought you might like this.) How the blossoms glow!
(Let's read some more! Please click on the picture...)
*( please click here to read of the day with me )
* (Alas there was a mild frost last night. It has been beautiful though. It will be even more beautiful next year so you won't have missed anything! There will probably be cherries too because the blossoms had been out for several days.It was raining when I got home so I did put up a few small fences around the aronia bushes because the rabbits were starting to cut them down. That is what they do. They just neatly prune the tops off and let them fall off. It's kind of neat except that they are far too efficient about it! I'd bet this is how we learned to prune, by watching plants growth in response to such things. The new trees seem to be doing well; the rain will help them to acclimate. I ordered the supplies for the banner poles, a few birch dowels. For the tips I will use a native wood called basswood.
It's the same wood as the spirit tree by the stream actually ( you probably remember this)! It sculpts very cleanly for a soft hardwood but isn't very interesting to look at. Hence it is used for very ornate carvings where all the attention is on the design and/or the material or it is painted or gilded. I'm going to begin tidying up the studio again, continuing to make space and improving things. Of course,A Windhorse project is portable so if need be we can work on it anywhere.
And so,
to my one
gentle patient dream bright,
with slight form
and will of might
I bid goodnight! ( as we continue on to tomorrow.)
